Welcome

Join the best in the global maintenance field in a unique opportunity to network and learn from top industry professionals and research academics. IMEC Features:

Keynote Presentations
Panel Discussions
Parallel Sessions
Post-Conference Workshops

Top industry and academic experts will present each conference theme from two perspectives: professional maintenance practice and maintenance science research. IMEC is structured to encourage dialogue and collaboration between these two communities, enhancing the performance of both.

IMEC is directed at engineers, managers of plant operations and facility managers or maintenance professionals who are responsible for maintaining and managing the physical equipment assets of an organization. All attendees will receive a certificate of attendance from the Centre for Maintenance Optimization & Reliability Engineering (C-MORE) at the University of Toronto.

Created and organized by the University of Toronto's C-MORE, IMEC 2011 is being co-organized with Applied Technology Publications, publisher of Maintenance Technology and Lubrication Management & Technology magazines.

Nelson MontanoWe are saddened by the passing of Nelson Montano on March 10, 2010, due to a heart attack at the Paranal Observatory, European Southern Observatory, Chile, where he was Head of the Maintenance Department. Nelson attended all IMECs since its inception in 2005 and was a speaker on several occasions. When IMEC included a plenary panel discussion, Nelson was always invited to be a member of the panel, and he always accepted. His responses to questions from the audience were ones the delegates always remembered and appreciated. His deep passion for asset management always came through in his remarks. Nelson was a Civil Mechanical Engineer from the University of Concepcion (Chile) and also a graduate of the University of Toronto’s Certificate Program in Physical Asset Management.
